Open to students in grades 6 through high school that demonstrate strong vocal technique and independent beginning sight-singing skills. Students learn more challenging sight-singing skills (solfege and rhythm) and vocal technique, and perform unison, 2-part, and 3-part choral repertoire.

REHEARSALS
Sundays, 6pm - 7:30pm (starting September 8, 2024)

PERFORMANCES
Saturday, December 21, at 1pm & 5pm - Presto! Holiday Concert, Schaumburg Choral Program with the Schaumburg Youth Symphony Orchestra
Sunday, April 27 at 7pm - Spring Concert, Schaumburg Choral Program
Other performances are scheduled and announced during the season.

Tuition for 2024-25 Season
$275

Families with more than one child in Schaumburg Youth Orchestra and/or Choral Program receive a $25 discount for each additional child after the first child is paid off in full.
Tuition includes a $25 family contribution to the Prairie Center Arts Foundation.
All members receive a choral program t-shirt.
Tuition assistance and installment payment plans offered.

DIRECTOR SARAH INENDINO

Sarah Inendino (Director, Cantabile) is originally from Northern Michigan, where she graduated with high honors from Interlochen Arts Academy and studied voice. She attended Northwestern University where she earned a Bachelors of Music in Music Education with a specialization

in choral education. Dr. Inendino completed her Masters of Arts degree at Columbia University in New York City and PhD in Music Education at the University of Michigan. Her specializations include choral conducting, voice pedagogy, and elementary general music.

Dr. Inendino began her career by conducting children’s choirs in Wilmette, Illinois and teaching private voice lessons. Afterwards, she taught 3rd-5th grade general music and chorus for eight years in Glenview, Illinois. Dr. Inendino left her position in Glenview to pursue a PhD in Music Education at the University of Michigan. While at the University of Michigan, she specialized in choral conducting, spending the last two years as the assistant choral conductor for the Michigan Youth Ensembles. Currently,

Dr. Inendino is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Northwestern University in Musical Theatre. Additionally, she also works with the Harper Festival Chorus as their assistant conductor and teaches in the Education Department at Lake Forest College. Additionally, Dr. Inendino is also active in musical theatre, as a performer, vocal coach, and music director. In addition to her teaching, She has served on the Illinois American Choral Directors Association State Board, and currently services on the Elementary General Music Divisionary Council for the Illinois Music Education Association.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family, bird watching and yoga.
